| After The Silence of the Lambs, the acclaimed director Jonathan Demme disappeared from our screens only to return with a DVD movie Philadelphia that would become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and Tom Hanks (Splash, Turner & Hooch) and Denzel Washington (Malcolm X, The Pelican Brief) massive stars. This DivX Movie Philadelphia was the first Philadelphia Drama film to deal with a deadly virus known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS alias). Hanks plays Andrew Beckett, a lawyer who tries to conceal their homosexual patients and their private lives of their leaders led by Charles Wheeler (Jason Robards-enemy of the State, Crimson Tide). Its leaders know that their "golden boy is gay and has AIDS" and fire him. Beckett then seek hurts represention lawyer Joe Miller (Washington), who is homophobic and he rejected at first, but then he decided that his right to do. Tom Hanks won a deserved Academy Award Best Actor (then won the same prize a year later in Forrest Gump), but I think that Denzel Washington was better. Definitely one of the best Demme. |
| Before I saw this Philadelphia film I rated actor Tom Hanks as a competent, consistent and always dedicated to his art. Roles that stood out for me, no doubt, Forrest Gump and, of course, The Green Mile. I came into this DVD movie Philadelphia knowing nothing of the plot, the characters, whether it was popular or how widely known. My house mate who had rented, and left him sitting at the table. Picked me up and watching the home saw Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington looking back. Of course with two solid players as professionals and that their Philadelphia Drama film almost guaranteed a certain level. But still I was seeing hesitate to think that there must be some exaggeration strong history of two interesting characters, and then come in overcoming some obstacles, offering views on life and such a along the way. I can hardly believe that seeing this movie. I wont say anything about the plot or story. Because although the plot is interesting and relevant history, we have seen a hundred times in other movies, television or literature. The reason we want to see this DivX Movie Philadelphia will see Tom Hanks sink their teeth deep into a role that will make Forest Gump look like a training exercise. Not that the eclipse, the opposite in fact, see this extraordinary ability to return only leaves you thinking, if not longer, before you do not see what a remarkable player he is. If you have led me to believe that this DivX film Philadelphia offers nothing more than Hank incredible performance is certainly not my intention. The DVD film Philadelphia itself is stunningly beautiful, see for yourself and let the DVD movie Philadelphia and Tom Hanks will leave you breathless. |
| I just recently saw the DVD movie Philadelphia after watching the special edition DVD for sale at only £ 5.99. I bought it and watched it as soon as it took home and thought it was amazing. The direction of Jonathan Demme was too large. but the two best things about Tom Hanks served as counsel to aid and Bruce Springsteen's song "Streets of Philadelphia." I always thought that the performance of Liam Neeson in Schindler's List was what should have received the Oscar in 1993. But when Philadelphia finally saw a few weeks ago, I could see why Hanks won. Denzel Washington as a homophobic lawyer support but is also great. The three, Hanks, Demme Washington and make a good team. The DivX film Philadelphia is wonderful. |
