| Sh * t Point / No Point. Just one of the worst films ever made. The entire cast (Scarlett pace you wanted) were wooden and completely unbelievable, and the exciting conclusion served as a soft core Channel 5 special. The weak pseudo-British banter (yum yum) to the total pretentious references Dostoyevsky, to lead and metaphors about the fate and bad luck tennis, this comes across one of the least convincing Match Point movie I've seen in a while. Total, absolute scum. How can the creator of Annie Hall and Manhattan produce a weak, flabby, underdeveloped lot of shooting? Save the money and invest in something more pleasant, like unanaesthatised intestinal surgery. PS do not even see the Scarlett Johanssens, so it's not there. Does this count as a spoiler? |
| I am deeply impressed with the latest creation of Allen that is so painfully real and intense. This DivX Movie Match Point creates a perfectly mimicked the reality in which I hope will never happen to live. There is no Hollywood plot smoothing and reason, but real, fresh and focused action. It's hard not to fall in love with Miss Johansson and I think Chris Wilton when torn. In general, the psychological level is very rich. Less and less epic "funny" that other DVD movie Match Point W. Allen, the director's style is still continuing in the plot, namely how to deal honestly with human feelings and actions. My favorite along with Allen Deconstructing Harry. |
| SJ and JRM obviously need at least some direction from Woody Allen to develop their characters beyond the point of a teenage crush gone wrong. In his defense, I must say that the plot is clunky and full of holes and the dialog to be amateurish not have much to work. Emily Mortimer and Matthew Goode did everything they could with their characters a dimension that would be sweet and charming. Woody Allen has made some great films than in recent years, but now seems to be going through the motions. Where is the smart dialogue, the profound nature of the studies and the intriguing plots and subplots that are characteristic of his best work? The script and direction seemed that the work of a major university with a large movie: Match Point budget. Critics are giving this Match Point Thriller film over the top to see great reviews "Crimes and Misdemeanors" to see what a masterpiece of Woody Allen, as it is really. |
