| I love Rodney Dangerfield. Always have. His one line, and all-around smartass attitude have made him a legend and never fails to crack me up. Back to School is a great example of what he can do and never tire of seeing it. Keith Gordon is big as his son and Robert Downey Jr. is quite hysterical as his best friend. The always reliable Burt Young is a lot of fun as Dangerfield limo-driver/best friend and that his service in the provision of laughter. It is a shame that more people have not seen. I think it is one of the best Rodney. Which has a great premise, an outstanding cast, and the non-stop laughs. |
| I do not think Rodney Dangerfield is funny all the time, but in this comedy that offers perfection. It fits perfectly the role of a wealthy and successful businessman who started college to get a certificate, you do not have. The way he is for his ease and relaxed style is very cool and fun. A very well done plot, it is safe. The Back to School Comedy movie is full of fun and has many exciting moments in it, so it suggest that everyone check this out for themselves to that experience. The last scene in the diving board is extremely high. Totally hilarious and I laughed all the way through it. |
| Back to School (1986) was a surprise success for the comic actor standing Rodeny Dangerfield. After making a big impression with the public with a place in the golf comedy Caddyshack and a leadership role in the easy money, his star was slowly rising. But it was the Back to School Comedy film that consolidated their place in American popular culture as a true icon of the 80s and a transition star. Stars such as Rodney Thorton Melon (nee Meloni), a successful entrepreneur who had to leave school when I was younger to take over the family business. Years later his son is in college, but are satisfied with life in general. After a comical series of events, Mr. Melon decides to visit her son's exclusive to see how college is really doing. Along the way we decide to book a learning opportunity. A very enjoyable film. Rodney Dangerfield made the transaction a stand-up act to an actor. The director wisely lets you improvise their dialogue and work in some of their materials in the film. The cast features Sally Kellerman, Robert Downey Jr., Keith Gordon, Burt Young, Terry Farrell and guest slots Adrienne Barbeau and Ned Beatty. Not a masterpiece by any means, but a fun movie, though. Recommended, especially on a slow Sunday afternoon. |
| This is a classic (although Campy) as Rodney. Just to comment ahead of time that any of this remake, especially one involving Cedric the Entertainer, can not live up to the original. I am really tired of Hollywood trying to win over the hip-Hoppy shallow Cedrick inculcate the culture of the spectacle to be in this remake when the original was done by a classic artist. What's next ... a remake of Animal House Bluto as P-Diddy (or whatever it calls itself these days)? Rodney is already turning in his grave knowing evil remake will be. Somewhere up there I hope you can convince God to find the set with thunder bolts of lightning and 14 inches of hail. Hollywood can not leave well enough alone? Rodney, now that you're dead .... you get even less respect! |
| Rodney Dangerfield of the best Back to School movie and best time (or 2) ... Plays a crass self-made millionaire whose son is in college. After divorcing the second wife - a shrew (Adrienne Barbeau) - drops in on children (Keith Gordon) to discover if the child is not a fraternity or diving equipment. The kid wants to quit so Rodney decided to return to school for foster children. Great premise. Rodney, of course, becomes a cost-free, beer swilling college Frosh to the delight of students and school administration. Rodney and spews nearly endless barrage of jokes, and a line is hysterically funny. But beyond the crass nature, this is a moment that also shows some acting chops Dangerfield and sweetness to his character. And it works! Top supporting cast helps out a lot too. Sally Kellerman is the English prof. Paxton Whitehead Snotty business is the master. Robert Downey is the Bizarro Roomies. Ned Beatty plays Dean Martin. William Zabka is hateful rival. Terry Farrell is too great friend. Burt Young plays the bodyguard Lou. Edie McClurg is the secretary. Sam Kinison is the shell-shocked history prof. Severn Darden is the kind of laboratory. M. Emmet Walsh is the diving coach. Jason Hervey Dangerfield is like a child. Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo appears as his free and scored the film. The final dive is hysterically funny and the perfect end for this sweet and funny movie. |
| Very funny movie, the lead can only be played by Dangerfield he was perfect in it. This Back to School Comedy movie is probably funnest lines of any movie: Back to School Dangerfield. I really like the easy money caddy shack was fun too. However, this DVD film Back to School was his best work I think. I am a big fan of Dangerfield really miss him. was my favorite comedian of all time. Its films like this that fans can enjoy their time and again several memorable pieces n funny. n some great lines. I wish I was in more movies this funny. Ladybugs half was not fun like this. Wally meet or sparks. This, however, is that the Back to School Comedy movie should be remembered for. |
| A very funny movie. Classic Rodney Dangerfield one-line mixed with some fun skits. The DivX Movie Back to School is terribly devoid of any plot, or appearance to the reality of university life, but this does not affect his madness. The most striking here is a quick Rodney, not as crazy as the Groucho, but also sarcastic and maddening. "And remember: the best for our children ... they are!" |
