| Although not strictly a horror film: Straightheads has many elements of this that will appeal to horror fans. Danny Dyer (again making her Cockney Geezer act) and Gillian Anderson play a couple traveling home from a party when they upset some local, which Dyer was savagely beaten, losing an eye in the process and raped Anderson . Months later, Anderson came across the rapist and sees his chance for revenge, but things are not as simple as it seems. This is at first like just a rape revenge Anderson film, but when faced with her rapist must learn more than what first appears. Dyer plays more or less plays the same role as always, but much darker this time and the link with the unusual X-Files Anderson, somehow it works. There is strong violence, including anal rape with a loaded rifle and good performance throughout. Not perfect but still an enjoyable thriller (Gillian Anderson and goes topless). 7 / 10 |
| I have to totally disagree with viewers, noting that he does not feel compassion and that they could not care less. Frankly I think short-sighted to believe that the victims are always just that. Crushed and confused waiting for the knight's armor bright. This is how you feel comfortable looking for victims. Here, however, the return of victims to the perpetrators. The grounds of the violation appears to be "reasonable" (during the scene in the kitchen), but immediately it became clear that hunger for power in the following seconds. The aim here was to make the audience feel compassion or pity for the victims, but to show they have a right to anger, anger and reaction. Alice and Adam were superficial characters, no doubt. Even get to know what Alice is really working. She takes his 23-year-old type of alarm to go to a party. Obviously it is not finding your soul here. Alice, however, had been pressing for that revenge is the one that can not go through. Adam seems to find his lost manhood in an attempted rape. If you can not relate to this, not the conclusion of the characters to be superficial, to continue the search for answers outside of the screen. |
| Straightheads is a great Straightheads movie that was unfairly expected by the critics. I do not understand why this assessment was negative. It is a shame because people stopped going to the cinema to see it. It is a violent provocation, but the drama about a young man assaulted the temptation of revenge. It is quite graphic, but we can see what violence can do to people. There is violence and sex scenes but they are not free. The performances are quite good and the characters well developed. The chemistry and sexual tension between Alice and Gillian Anderson, Danny Dyer, Adam, is sizzling hot and very erotic. Dan Reed, who makes his debut with Straightheads, did a very good job. He makes a study on the nature of the aftermath of violence in the male and female identity and introduces the story of revenge. Antonio Becerro, bad game, did an excellent job. If you want to see a good film, but powerful, go for it and draw your own conclusions! |
| A wealthy merchant (Gillian Anderson) and his newly acquired working class lover (Danny Dyer) is brutally attacked in a unit, while the forest. Then the only thing that women can think of revenge, and is calculated with a plan to fulfill that. It is an intriguing modern-day "rape / revenge thriller that focuses more on psychology and gender (and other social constructs) instead of violence and action sequences, which often go hand in hand with subgenus. That said, the rape / fan is likely that revenge will not be disappointed with this because it is fairly brutal and shocking. It is a bit short, time in just over 70 minutes, so I thought at the end, "is that all there is?" However, the DivX film Straightheads has something of an impact on me because I was thinking about all the next day, and recommend it to friends. Gillian Anderson is excellent and does things that never in a million years think I'd make Gillian Anderson on the screen. I will leave it at that. Danny Dyer also provides great performance dramatically. I'm not sure why it gets such a bad rap in the UK. He is not very famous in the States, but he is great in the few films I've seen in Thumbs in this exciting thriller, but I can not help feeling that a missing piece of the film. |
