When I first heard of Gangs of New York, my first impression was that it would not be so good. But I decided to challenge my prejudices, before I challenged (Enterprise; Strange New World, Season 1). So I rented it and watched it, but it was a hell of a lot worse than my preconception. The film: Gangs of New York begins with the young Amsterdam Vallon saw his father killed by Bill the butcher to start searching for revenge as a whole. But after that film: Gangs of New York was all downhill and it was totally forgettable and Unwatch. After the murder, the story lasted only to be totally useless in that it did not have a history. The final battle between Vallon and the butcher was very helpless, like much of the action. Another case of big orchestra, a small show. In the event that the trailer was only watchable part of the film. And Gangs of New York instead of being nominated for best film, did a hell of a lot more sense to nominate for the award of worst Rasperry image. And in all probability we should have won.

What a disappointment. And talk about the emperor and his new clothes. I went to see this in a group of 5 people and 2 left, 1 left for a cigarette and I was almost asleep. This is an absolutely incredible film. I do not think that New York was never like this, and if the corners were never 5, why not just move? The script is ridiculous, which acts as Popeye - Daniel Day Lewis as a comedian and is a pastiche of Pacino and De Niro. Normally can not stand Cameron Diaz, but was the only credible character in the film. If Scorsese wins Oscar for this crap because it is not samalu win one before. 3 hours of tedium - but come to think of it, was not in New York New York and all other undisciplined meandering DivX Movie Gangs of New York that has broken out? In London, the Gangs of New York film opened strong on marketing and MASSIVE gone before, based on word of mouth. We believe that this word of mouth - is + 3 hours of his life in vain. Avoid and I do not believe the hype.
