| I just see a selection in Glasgow last night and was very impressed. After seeing the Land of the Dead I feared GAR was designed to only controlled study of zombie movies that are sold his earlier work, but this is something of a return to form. The budget is small and unknown players (such as his best film), but the special effects are fine and there are a lot of blood has become even more disturbing as seen through the lens of a camcorder. The viewpoint of the technique is bound to generate concerns about similarities to other movies with the same style (eg, Cloverfield), but a newspaper is very different from the Diary of the Dead Horror film and not a 'rip-off', but rather smaller the Diary of the Dead film is what the thing itself. There is humor (some real laugh out loud-a-time), social commentary (perhaps a little machine, but intelligent and relevant), suspense, blood and everything we have come to expect from a Romero film, but grouped in a fresh new style by the man. It was really interesting to try something new. As a fan of the genre and the works of Romero, which was finally relieved and impressed by Journal after entering the theater of a skeptic. This is not his best DVD film Diary of the Dead and some fans no doubt left, but after seeing that I was happy to see him back on track. Thanks George. |
| Background short, I LOVE ZOMBIE FILMS. not. I was anxious to launch this "new" film. Romero told me they had come to an interesting new twist in the world of the living dead. Did not. Most Zombie movies do not tote the biggest name actors or a high budget. What I have is a true worship. George Romero on everything. I saw this Diary of the Dead movie with two other people, my cousin is ridiculous in a lot of blood and decapitations, my father in good inventive twists and dialogue, and I i are between these two. We were all disappointed. There were hardly any zombies. The characters were idiots, and unlike. Internet use was somewhat inventive, but was foolish overkill because Romero animosity it has generated within the main characters. The heinous act was understandable, right? Zombie movies love to use unknowns. At least in movies like escape from the living dead there was some comedy, about the only good thing that is not death. The dialogue was stupid parts in the border line in Ayn Rand and others, the profuse use of philosophy creates an awkwardness in the movies, now that is not consistent. Having said all that, there is a part that I enjoy. |
